CAT mock test

CAT mocks built from real slot papers, scored the way CAT scores them.

Take any released CAT slot as a timed mock under the real section order and marking scheme — or build a sectional test from VARC, DILR or Quantitative Aptitude alone. Every submission returns accuracy, time per question and the topics that cost you marks.

What is a CAT mock test on Prasnya?

A CAT mock on Prasnya is a released slot paper put under the clock, not a set of invented questions. Any of the 10 published slots can be started as a full timed attempt with the real section order and the real marking scheme — three marks for a correct answer, minus one for an incorrect MCQ, no penalty on TITA. A question palette tracks what you have answered, flagged and skipped, and the timer runs per section. When a full paper is the wrong test, the same engine will assemble one out of a single section, chapter, topic or subtopic, scored identically. Submission is where the value is: each attempt is broken down into accuracy, time spent per question against the time the question warranted, difficulty bands, and attempt quality — perfect, wasted, overtime, confused — with the weakest topics named rather than left for you to infer from a score.

What the report gives back

  • Score, accuracy and marks lost, against the attempted set rather than the whole paper
  • Time per question, compared with the time that question warranted
  • Difficulty bands, so an easy question missed reads differently from a hard one
  • Attempt quality: perfect, wasted, overtime, confused
  • Section movement across the attempt, and where the clock ran out
  • Question-by-question review of the whole paper on Pro

Questions people ask

Are these real CAT papers or simulated mocks?
Real. Every mock is assembled from a released CAT slot paper — 2025 (3 slots), 2024 (3 slots), 2018 (2 slots), 2017 (2 slots). Nothing is authored in-house.
Can I take a sectional mock instead of a full paper?
Yes. A mock can be built from one section, one chapter, one topic or one subtopic, and it is scored exactly the way a full paper is. That is the difference between knowing your QA is weak and knowing it is remainders specifically.
Does the mock use CAT's marking scheme?
Yes — three marks for a correct answer, minus one for an incorrect MCQ, and no negative marking on TITA questions, which is how CAT scores them.
How many mocks can I take?
Plus includes four paper-mock starts and basic analysis; Pro makes paper mocks unlimited and adds week, topic and subtopic mocks plus the full analysis suite. The 2-day trial gives Pro-level access to everything first.
What do I get after submitting?
An attempt report covering score and accuracy, time per question against the time the question warranted, difficulty bands, attempt quality, and the topics that lost the most marks. Pro adds a question-by-question review of the whole paper.
Is Prasnya affiliated with the IIMs?
No. Prasnya is an independent practice platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the IIMs or any examination body. The questions are transcribed from released CAT papers.
What does it cost?
Plans start at Rs 69/month, with Plus at Rs 129/month and Pro at Rs 149/month. Each is a one-time payment for one month — nothing auto-renews and no card is stored. New accounts get 2 days of full access first, without a card.
