IITM BS Quiz 2 PYQ

IITM BS Quiz 2 PYQs, aimed at the weeks where the marks actually leak.

Quiz 2 sits on the middle weeks, where the syllabus stops recapping school material and starts being new. Prasnya holds 1,428 released Quiz 2 questions across 7 subjects, each filed to the week it came from — so you can drill the exact stretch that is costing you marks.

What is the best way to practise IITM BS Quiz 2 previous year questions?

Aim at the middle weeks, and aim narrowly. Quiz 2 in an IIT Madras BS Data Science term examines roughly Weeks 5 to 8 of each registered subject — the stretch where the syllabus stops recapitulating school material and starts introducing the ideas the rest of the degree is built on, which is why marks leak there quietly rather than obviously. Prasnya holds 1,428 released Quiz 2 questions across 7 subjects, drawn from 12 slot papers spanning 2022 - 2026, filed into 51 distinct subject-week routes. Practising by week rather than by paper lets you stack every year's questions on one week together, which is how the repeated question shapes become visible; from there you can narrow to a single topic or subtopic and take that alone as a timed test. One thing worth knowing before you plan: the released Quiz 2 papers cover seven subjects, not eight — Programming in Python appears in the Qualifier and Quiz 1 set only. Prasnya is independent and not affiliated with IIT Madras.

The subjects

The 7 subjects Quiz 2's released papers cover

Measured against the published catalog. Note what is not here: Programming in Python appears in the Qualifier / Quiz 1 paper set only, so this list is seven rather than eight.

  • Mathematics 1138 questions · 7 weeks
  • Mathematics 2179 questions · 7 weeks
  • English 1320 questions · 6 weeks
  • English 2330 questions · 10 weeks
  • Statistics 1155 questions · 9 weeks
  • Statistics 2174 questions · 7 weeks
  • Computational Thinking132 questions · 5 weeks

Practising Programming in Python? Its 134 published questions sit under the Qualifier / Quiz 1 route, and the syllabus they cover is the same.

The problem

Why Quiz 2 is where the marks quietly go

Quiz 1 rewards being on top of the reading. Weeks 1 to 4 of most subjects are, for a lot of students, a formalisation of things they have already met, so the failure mode is carelessness rather than not knowing.

The middle weeks are different. This is where linear algebra stops being simultaneous equations, where statistics stops being averages, and where Python stops being syntax. The failure mode changes with it: you do not get these questions wrong because you rushed, you get them wrong because one specific idea has not landed. A total out of a total cannot tell you which one.

That is the case for practising this assessment topic by topic rather than paper by paper. Every one of these 1,428 questions carries its subject, week, topic and subtopic, so a wrong answer resolves to a named idea — and that idea is itself a route you can open, drill and then sit as a timed test on its own.

The weeks

Weeks 5 to 8, where Quiz 2 lives

The band Quiz 2 examines, with the published questions filed to each week across every subject. Each row opens the subject holding the most of them.

  • Week 5 · English 1368 questions · 8 subjects
  • Week 6 · English 1472 questions · 7 subjects
  • Week 7 · Mathematics 1172 questions · 6 subjects
  • Week 8 · English 1312 questions · 6 subjects

Question counts are field-wide for that week; the link opens the subject with the deepest coverage of it.

The route

From Quiz 2 to a single subtopic in five steps

The narrower the scope, the more specific the report — which is the whole reason to go past the subject level.

  1. 1

    Open the paper set

Every released Quiz 2 question, already sorted — not a folder of PDFs to scan.

  2. 2

    Pick the subject

Any of the 7 subjects the released Quiz 2 papers cover.

  3. 3

    Narrow to the week

Weeks 1 to 12, exactly as the course runs them, so practice lines up with the lecture you just watched.

  4. 4

    Narrow to the topic

Then the subtopic if the leak is that specific. 660 of them are individually addressable.

  5. 5

Solve, or sit it as a mock

Practise one at a time with the solution a tap away, or start the same set against a clock and read the report.
